i have this fascination with mermaids. often i get told i remind someone of a mermaid. but heres the irony: i can't swim.

i would love to be underwater. i dont like walking. i wish i could swim with colorful fish and friendly-eyed dolphins, swirly bubbles like clouds. if i could, i would live underwater. i miss the ocean

The thing i hate about relationships or anything dealing with boys is i never know wheter to call or not. It doesnt help my boy is so distant and i can't read him, he's such a big mystery. but he says the same thing about me. I'm not a mystery. Atleast, I don't think so. blah whatever I'm going to sit in my bed with my cell phone in my hand wondering on whether to call or not....he said he was going to call today....

10 am listening to Nite Jewel waiting for a phone call. Puppy is sleeping underneath me as i am writing this down. its a grey sky today in california but i love it like this, no sun go away sun. mika takes beautiful pictures. i miss the ocean

i miss being 16

things are so different now.. but i'm ok with this, i think. unless i found a time machine, i'd take (xxx) with me and we'd go together 20 years back. lalala

i dream i am stranded on a field
my eyes are covered by some fabric

"Seated on the ground they took please in modeling clay figurines - small pots, round headed dolls with cigar like arms, were proud works for Ana Inocencia. Teresa Irene, on the other hand, modeled inexplicable figures which even today, more than twenty five years later, are kept in a handful of houses of the old and now changed community. inverted prisms sustained by solid planes, from whose surfaces roses multitudes of bushes of equal size and identical leaves; houses burdened by the weight of oranges, papayas, sapodillas, and other fruits, guinea hens blindfolded with pieces of mirrors, and necklaces of butterflies, lamps placed on the headboard of a sleeping child, balls with multiple parameters shifting toward a post on whoaw top there is a two petal flower, colts peacock, dogs warming themsleves in fron of a fire, and many other figures with unexplainable and harmonious contours, sprinkled here and there with spots of tuequoise colored earth."

I do not know many sculptors these days. The exception is my friend and artist, Mikaela Mae who created the above sculpture. Of the above sculpture i find myself in love. Never have i seen something created like that. There are candles placed inside of the bust, pearls and ribbons surrounding the form, symbols of femininity but the sculpture itself its golden, is the light of the candle inside making the figure glow, illuminate?

I've never talked to the artist about that particular piece and why she created it.
the title of the piece is "Voice" i can only imagine how long it must have taken but this is one of my favorite pieces of art; for the imagery it produces and the stories it tells me.







Sculpture fascinates me in ways i cannot put into words. It is physical, three dimensional, the effort the sculptor puts into forming, becoming, molding, to create,
the use of various materials besides traditional ones but the incorporations of others like ribbons, things from nature, seashells, etc. - the idea that you see it becoming in front of your eyes in a physical way
